3 players the NY Giants should sign not named Odell Beckham Jr.

Don’t blink Giants fans: the 2022 regular season is just around the corner. In less than two weeks the Giants 2022 season will kickoff in Nashville, where the team will go to battle with an unusual opponent in the Tennessee Titans.
The Giants goal for Week 1 is simple; knock off the Titans and leave Nashville 1-0. If the Giants were to pull the upset in Nashville (which I think they will), it would mark the franchise’s first winning record since Jan. 1 of 2016.
Joe Schoen and the Giants front office members have their work cut out for them the next two weeks to give NY their best chance to beat the Titans. With a plethora of injuries to key players like Kayvon Thibodeaux, Kadarius Toney, Shane Lemieux, Sterling Shepard and Dane Belton, the Giants need additional help. While injuries have ravaged some positions, others have proven to be immense weaknesses in training camp, like the secondary. The offensive line and wide receiver groups could use additional depth.
While there’s been buzz a move could be made for Odell Beckham Jr., it just doesn’t seem likely. Here are the three players the Giants should try and target instead of OBJ.
3. CB Chris Harris Jr.
The most dire position on the New York Giants is the cornerback group. After James Bradberry was a cap casualty last spring, the Giants cornerback position outside of Adoree’ Jackson became a real concern. Those concerns have not yet been alleviated. Aaron Robinson, a 2021 third-round pick, has been the the second starting cornerback all offseason, but has gotten torched and targeted by opposing offensive coordinators.
Rodarius Williams, the likely backup cornerback, suffered a setback in his recovery from a torn ACL, leading him to miss the majority of camp. With that said, Chris Harris Jr. would be a solid fit. Harris, a 10-year NFL veteran, spent the first eight years of his career in Denver and the last two in Los Angeles with the Chargers. During his 10-year career, Harris has recorded 22 interceptions, four touchdowns, 592 tackles – while playing in 162 games. Harris has played a lot of man coverage, which would make him fit great in New York.
Under Wink Martindale’s tutelage, the Giants defense will be very blitz heavy, leaving the corners on islands. Giants fans would sleep a lot easier at night knowing Harris will be left one on one with opposing teams’ second best receivers rather than Robinson, Williams, or someone else with little to no experience.
