For the first time in what feels like years, the New York Giants finally have some depth at the wide receiver position. In order for the G-Men to have a big year, the wideouts are going to have to blow up for new head coach Brian Daboll. Quarterback Daniel Jones will be relying on the group as a whole from start to finish in 2022.

There’s several standouts in this group, of course including Sterling Shepard, Kenny Golladay and second-round pick Wan’Dale Robinson. There’s high expectations for Robinson, but the veterans on this team are going to have up to ball out for Jones. So, which speedster will finish with the most receptions this campaign?

NY Giants wideout Sterling Shepard is in for a big year

While he’s still recovering from his torn Achilles suffered last December, Shepard has all the tools to have a big season for the Giants. He and Jones have great chemistry and that will need to be showcased early on this season. After going 4-13 last year, the New York offense needs to wake up in a big way.

Perhaps there’s no one more motviated than Shepard to help bring some joy back to East Rutherford. Shepard has been with this team since the 2016 campaign. Shepard has had some impressive seasons with NY, recording 66 receptions twice. Could he crack 70 for the first time this year?

Fans sure are hoping so, but Shepard will need to stay healthy and Jones will need to look like a former first-round pick for once. The hope is that the new offense being implemented by Brian Daboll and offensive coordinator Mike Kafka can help the Giants finally take the next step. Jones is in his make-or-break year, while Shepard agreed to take a paycut to stay in town.

Both players could extend their stays with the NFC East side with a strong showing in ’22. We believe Shepard has what it takes to top 70 catches for the first time in his career, ultimately finishing with the most receptions for the Giants this campaign. Will it end up happening? We can’t wait to find out.
