How could anyone not like him? That’s what New York Giants fans 100 percent think of new head coach Brian Daboll. The days of Joe Judge making you all suffer are over. Daboll kicked off his Giants career with a bang, recording a stunning win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday in Nashville when no one gave them a chance.

When Daniel Jones tossed the touchdown late in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to 20-19, everyone was ready for Graham Gano to get out there and tie things up. Well, everyone but Daboll. With ice in his veins, Daboll decided to go for two and Saquon Barkley delivered, giving the Giants their 21-20 win. So, what was Daboll thinking with his call?

Brian Daboll didn’t think twice going for two and the win

You’ve got to love that quote from Daboll, who didn’t hesitate in saying he wanted to be aggressive and go for the win. Had the Giants not converted, then people would have been ready to blast Daboll for his decision. Luckily, we’ll never know what people might have said, as his offense was able to get the job done.

On top of that, you’ve got to give credit to Jones here too. After his late interception in the fourth quarter, people were ripping him left and right. Heck, people were tired of his act early on in the first quarter too. However, Jones made the necessary plays in this one to help the Giants record their first season-opening victory in six years.

This is a victory Giants fans are going to be talking about for a long time. Tennessee is no slouch, as it was the No. 1 seed in the AFC not too long ago.

The Titans were favorites to take down the G-Men, but Daboll’s guys never stopped believing and they fought until the end. Daboll decided to gamble late and it paid off in the best way possible. What a day this turned out to be for the first-year head coach and the Giants. This could really set the tone for the rest of the campaign.
