Are we getting a little bit ahead of ourselves here? Nope, not a chance, not at all. The morale for the New York Giants is high right now following the Week 1 win over the Tennessee Titans and this team is ready to make things 2-0 this weekend going up against Baker Mayfield and the Carolina Panthers.

Yup, 2-0 sure would be sweet. But you know what would be even better? If the Giants start off the year 4-0 leading up to the fun showdown with Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in London come Week 5. From our chair, the G-Men should be able to get that job done. Here’s four reasons why.

4. New York should take care of business against the Panthers in Week 2

If you’re feeling confident about the Giants taking down the Panthers, you’re not alone, as the Vegas oddsmakers have NY favored by 2.5 points for this one. Carolina suffered a rough Week 1 loss at home to the Deshaun Watson-less Cleveland Browns. Everyone figured the Panthers would win.

Nope, that didn’t happen. Meanwhile for the Giants, they indeed pulled off their stunning win over the Titans which was amazing to witness. Now, this team is going to try and take a big step on both sides of the ball against Carolina. The Panthers are about as average as can be, which could open the door for a big day for Daniel Jones.

Speaking of Jones, you already know he’s going to be motivated to take down Mayfield after the Carolina QB previously blasted him when he was taken No. 6 overall. Jones might be too nice to come out and say he wants to make Mayfield eat his words, but it sure would be sweet to see Danny Dimes outplay Mayfield at MetLife Stadium. We think he’ll do just that.
