1. Kayvon Thibodeaux- OLB (knee)

If there’s any player on this list outside of Toney who has the best chance of playing on Sunday, it’s Giants rookie Kayvon Thibodeaux, but things aren’t promising for him either. The rookie suffered a knee injury in the team’s Week 2 preseason game vs the Bengals. He’s been progressing slowly the past couple weeks and has been getting healthier each day.

Thibodeaux has said to the media that he’s “really confident” and very “optimistic” about his chances to play Sunday. He has two days to see how that knee is feeling come kickoff.

His limited availabilty at practice may be more precautionary to keep him potentially ready to play vs the Panthers. The rookie is eager to start his NFL career and play in front of the home crowd who can’t wait to watch him wreak havoc on opposing QBs.

With that said, Thibodeaux has also been listed as doubtful for this showdown. He may be ready to play and feel fired up enough to put on the pads, but the last thing the Giants want to do is rush him back and risk further injury. Saving Thibodeaux for MNF looks to be the best decision here. Don’t expect him to suit up vs. the Panthers.
