3. Daniel Jones makes Baker Mayfield eat his words

Who can forget when Mayfield, who Stephen A. Smith famously says has more progressive commercials than NFL wins, trashed the Giants for picking Jones in 2019 during an interview with GQ.

"“I cannot believe the Giants took Daniel Jones” said the embattled quarterback. “It blows my mind. Some people overthink it. That’s where people go wrong. They forget you’ve gotta win.”"

While Jones has shown very little emotion, there’s no doubt these comments are going to light a fire under him, as he has been hearing his whole career how he’s not good enough. After featuring the running game heavily in Week 1, the Giants will look to get the passing game going in Week 2, and Jones will do just that. A pissed off Jones will throw for multiple touchdowns on Sunday and close to 300 yards, making Baker eat his words.

Last week we got a close up look at Jones’ underrated arm talent, as he threw a 65-yard bomb to Sterling Shepard. Jones had even more chances to take deep shots last week, but did not see his open receivers. This week he will see those open receivers and pick apart an average Carolina secondary.
