For the second straight week, an offensive pass interference call has gone against the New York Giants, and from our chair, it was total horse (expletive). This time, late in the first half, the Giants had a long gain from Daniel Jones to Kenny Golladay, down 6-3, and it looked like the G-Men were going to put themselves in a position to tie things up.
Instead, a flag was thrown on Sterling Shepard for offensive pass interference after he ran into Trevon Diggs. Shepard was running his route, though, and didn’t even see Diggs until the last second.
If anything, it looked like Shepard was trying to jump out of the way to not make contact with the DB. The flag was thrown, and the Giants were robbed. Unreal.
You decide...was this an OPI on Sterling Shepard? pic.twitter.com/FB3B7o1xgw

OPI on Sterling Shepard was a gift for the Dallas Cowboys
After watching the replay of that OPI on Shepard, it’s likely going to make your blood boil even more. In that situation, with the Giants driving and hoping to put some more points on the board, it’s simply inexcusable for the refs to rob NY like this. Head man Brian Daboll was livid on the sidelines. He’s not the only furious one.
He wasn't even looking at him. One of the most awful calls ever.

One of the most bullshit calls I’ve ever seen on Sterling Shepard there.

Kenny Golladay finally catches a nice pass and it gets called back on a questionable offensive pass interference call on Sterling Shepard

People think this might have been a makeup call for a missed defensive pass interference that didn’t go the Cowboys’ way early on in the first half. Ok, the refs aren’t going to be perfect, we get that, but from our view, Shepard should not have been flagged here. This also has an impact on Golladay.
He once again finished the first half without a reception. Who knows, that big gain could have gotten his confidence up and helped him get on the same page with Jones.
Instead, everything was wiped away and now the Giants are going to have to try and get something done in the second half on offense. We can only hope no more rough calls go against the Giants. In a close rivalry game like this, we simply can’t have the refs have a big impact on the contest.
