This one is going to sting for a while, there’s no denying that. The NY Giants had everything put in place to take down the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night and fans were feeling pretty darn confident after Saquon Barkley broke free for his 36-yard touchdown run to put the G-Men in front.

Then, the wheels fell off. Dallas took over on offense, with Cooper Rush leading the way for a 23-16 victory on enemy territory. Now, NY will have a sour taste in its mouth until these two teams meet again. That showdown will take place at AT&T Stadium for some Thanksgiving Day fun.

With that game still about two months away, here’s four things in particular that will need to change for the G-Men if they want to even the season series.

4. A WR1 must emerge for Daniel Jones

Right now, there’s no true leader for the wide receivers room in East Rutherford. That much was made clear in the Week 3 loss to Dallas. Matter of fact, this has been the case since the summer. Kenny Golladay was signed to his monster contract to be the guy, but in a few words, he’s not the guy.

People are sick and tired of Kenny G and it’s up in the air if he’ll even be on the roster the next time Dallas and New York face off. To make matters worse for Daniel Jones, he lost Sterling Shepard to a torn ACL suffered during Monday Night Football. There goes the most experienced wideout on the roster – just brutal.

There’s still plenty of talent left, but someone just has to step up and be the go-to guy for Jones. It’s unlikely going to be Golladay, so how about Kadarius Toney? He missed MNF with a hamstring injury, but everyone is praying to the Football Gods he can stay healthy the rest of the season. We’d love to see Toney live up to his potential – only time will tell if that happens. If Toney doesn’t become WR1, then who will?
