Leave it to Boomer Esiason to get the Saquon Barkley trade speculation back up and running at full speed. Esiason said he thinks the the Buffalo Bills should try and trade for No. 26, and he believes putting a second or third-round pick on the table for the NY Giants could be enough to land Barkley.

Remember, Barkley is out of contract at the end of the season. If the fifth-year running back is traded before the deadline arrives, perhaps no one will be more upset about this decision than Daniel Jones. Danny Dimes needs Barkley, desperately.

With Jones hanging on to a thread to keep his chances of being the franchise QB of the future, Barkley leaving town would wipe away any hope he has left of earning the job for the long haul.

NY Giants trading Saquon Barkley would be a nightmare for Daniel Jones

If the Giants do pull off the surprising move to trade Barkley, it will tell you that general manager Joe Schoen is looking at a complete overhaul of this team, and quite frankly there will be no room for Jones at the table. The Giants are already doing Jones a major disservice with the wideouts he has available to throw to.

With Kadarius Toney and Wan’Dale Robinson expected to be out vs. the Chicago Bears, and Sterling Shepard out for the season with his torn ACL, the remaining options are David Sills, Richie James, Kenny Golladay and Darius Slayton. Woof.

Golladay was supposed to be the No. 1 option for this offense in 2022, but he has two receptions to his name in three games. Again, woof. Things are so bad for Golladay, the fanbase was basically begging for Schoen to cut him after he had another disappointing performance in Week 4, this time coming against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football.

This offense is rough to watch at times and things are only going to get worse for the G-Men if Barkley is sent to Buffalo or anywhere else. If Saquon ends up packing his bags for a new city, you better believe Jones will be doing so at the end of the year as well.
