1. The Giants win by double-digits
This matchup sets up perfectly for the Giants. While I understand both of these teams are in similar positions, I do not understand the comparisons being made between these two franchises. The Giants clearly have multiple foundational pieces to build upon, and those are hard to find on the Bears weak roster.
The biggest key for this weekend: the Giants have the clear advantage at the three most important positions in football; Quarterback, head coach, and offensive line.
Jones is lightyears ahead of Justin Fields. Fields ranks ranks dead last in QBR among eligible quarterbacks through three weeks. The Bears offensive staff clearly has very little faith in Fields and the rest of their personal, and it shows through their offense philosophy that looks like it’s from the 1800s. Fields has completed just 20 passes for 297 yards in three games, two mind-bogglingly low numbers.
Brian Daboll’s coaching has willed the Giants to two wins already this season and nearly a third, and there’s no reason to expect that to change against Matt Eberflus. Eberflus was a relatively unpopular hire both in Chicago and nationally, and he is clearly not helping in the development of his young quarterback.
Both offensive lines leave something to be desired, but quite simply, the Giants have Thomas and the Bears do not. Outside of the three key spots, Saquon Barkley, the best player who will step onto MetLife’s turf Sunday, will have a big game, while Xavier McKinney, the best defensive player on the field, will come through with an interception on one of the few Fields pass attempts. The Giants will win 22-10, and suddenly, all will feel good again in the Big Apple.
4 Saquon Barkley trade rumors that won’t die until the deadline
With new trade speculations surrounding Saquon Barkley, four teams will surely be linked to him until the Nov. 1 deadline arrives.
