1. They have Saquon Barkley

With each week, the expectations for Saquon Barkley will continue to grow. He has already exceeded several of his totals from last season, and he has returned to the once-elite form that he showed during his rookie campaign. To expect that the Giants could rely on their defense and Barkley to lead them atop the NFC East may be unrealistic, but it certainly seems possible.

Through the first five games, Barkley has been the only consistent piece on this offense. On the ground, he has already accounted for 533 rushing yards and three touchdowns. In the passing game, he has recorded 18 receptions for 143 receiving yards. This brings his yards from scrimmage for the season to 676, which is tops in the league.

It has been shown on several occasions that an elite running back can lead a team far. If anyone were to be up for that challenge this season, it would be Barkley. He is the key figure in this Giants offense, and he is yet to let them down.

This team’s success is reliant on the health of their star player. Barkley has dealt with serious injuries in the past, and he had a scare in Week 5 regarding his shoulder. But if he can stay healthy, he could be all this team needs to go far.
