Daniel Jones defends NY Giants RB Saquon Barkley after recent hate
This is what you call being a great teammate. Over the past two weeks, we’ve seen a major drop in production from NY Giants running back Saquon Barkley. Prior to the showdown against the Lions in Week 11, Barkley was playing at an All-Pro level and it was great to see. Things just haven’t been the same for him, though.
Against Detroit, No. 26 posted 22 yards on 15 carries. Then in the showdown with the Cowboys, Barkley was held to just 39 yards. For him to have 61 yards over two games – both contests NY ended up losing – is unacceptable.
Barkley knows he must play better, but signal-caller Daniel Jones said he hasn’t noticed a drop in his RB’s play and that he’s ready to see him in action come Sunday vs. Washington.
NY Giants RB Saquon Barkley is in need of a bounce-back game
Jones looks more than confident that Barkley will be able to post a strong performance vs. the Commanders, and boy does he need it. Matter of fact, the Giants as a whole are in desperate need of a victory against their NFC East rivals.
The Giants have lost three of four, and have seen their record drop to 7-4. They’re still holding on to an NFC Wild Card spot, but the Seattle Seahawks are right behind them at 6-5. Keep in mind that the Seahawks beat the Giants earlier in the season too.
There’s a tough stretch of games for the Giants coming up, with the red-hot Philadelphia Eagles on the schedule for Week 14 too. Jalen Hurts has his squad at 10-1, and people all over Philly are dreaming of this team winning another Super Bowl.
Having said that, the Giants would love to record an upset over Washington this weekend, and follow that up by taking down the Eagles too. Barkley will need to be at his best in these two upcoming meetings. He just needs to flush his past two performances and move forward.
