The future feels bright for the NY Giants now that general manager Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll are running the show in East Rutherford. As important as the NFL Draft was for the two in 2022, there’s no doubt that the G-Men must crush things once again in 2023. That’s why the first-round pick is so important.

The Athletic’s Dane Brugler has come out with his new mock draft, and he has the Giants and Schoen going with an intriguing target at No. 24 overall: Arkansas linebacker Drew Sanders. How would Big Blue nation feel about this pick?

Arkansas LB Drew Sanders would be quite the addition for the NY Giants

"“The NFL feedback on Drew Sanders lands anywhere between the first round and third round, so it will be interesting to see where he falls on draft weekend,” Brugler wrote on Sanders. “A former five-star recruit at Alabama, Sanders transferred to Arkansas and is in the midst of a career year. He leads the Hogs in tackles (103), tackles for loss (13.5), sacks (9.5) and forced fumbles (3). Sanders is a long, athletic defender with experience all over the front seven.”"

Sanders is a former 5-star linebacker from Texas, signing with Nick Saban and Alabama out of the 2020 class. He then made his way to Arkansas and he’s been an absolute monster for the Razorbacks. Those 9.5 sacks and 103 total tackles is surely something that defensive coordinator Wink Martindale would love to work with.

There’s no denying that the LB unit for the Giants is also in need of some serious help. Fans had been hoping that the Giants would use a first-rounder on a new quarterback to replace Daniel Jones, but that’s feeling less and less likely by the week. Once next April comes around, though, Sanders will be a name for people to keep an eye on. This kid is a baller.
