NY Giants Round 3 pick: Oregon LB Noah Sewell

During this past season, arguably the weakest piece of the Giants defense was the linebacker group. In turn, the group looked to midseason additions to find production. By drafting Oregon’s Noah Sewell, the Giants would be adding a high-volume tackler who can make plays all over the field.

Over his three collegiate seasons, Sewell regularly stuffed the stat sheet. In total, he recorded 105 solo tackles, 218 total tackles, 20.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, nine defended passes, and three interceptions.

The Giants attempted to address linebacker in last year’s draft. This led to them adding both Micah McFadden and Darrian Beavers. McFadden showed moments of promise, but unfortunately, Beavers missed the entire season with a torn ACL. A trio of McFadden, Beavers and Sewell could have legitimate upside. And it could be exactly what this linebacker core needs to get back on track.

NY Giants Round 3 pick: Andrew Vorhees OG USC

Another major need that the Giants must address is the interior of their offensive line. With both Jon Feliciano and Nick Gates set to be free agents, this group is in need of help. With the 100th pick of the draft, they could look to take USC guard Andrew Vorhees.

During his time at USC, Vorhees was dominant on the interior. In his final season, he took the field for 720 total snaps. Over this time, he allowed just two sacks and 12 total hurries. Along with this, he posted a PFF grade of 81.9.

Vorhees has risen to success while playing primarily left guard, but he has also taken significant reps at left tackle. With his addition, the Giants could add much-needed depth along the offensive line, while also gaining an immediate starter.
