1. Tremaine Edmunds

While the price tag that Tremaine Edmunds brings could throw some fans off, it is important to understand just how elite of a player he is and the difference he would make for the Giants. Don’t get me wrong, the $17.5 million he is projected to make is a lot of dough, but the talent he brings on the field alongside his young age could be what turns this Giants defense into an elite squad.

Not only is Edmunds incredibly productive against the run, but he was one of the better coverage linebackers in the league last season, allowing 40 receptions on 56 targets for 296 yards and one touchdown –  just 7.4 yards per catch.

As for his numbers against the run, Edmunds racked up 101 tackles. Unlike certain former Giants linebackers, Edmunds has a certain read and react ability that we have not seen at the linebacker position in years and it’d be huge for the defense.

It could potentially be a better idea to bring a player like Edwards in, who is both cheaper and has the potential to be better. However, Edmunds is by far the better player now and still has tons of room to grow as he is just 24 years old and is already a two-time Pro Bowler.
