With the new league year starting at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, the NY Giants didn’t waste a minute in announcing Darren Waller was the newest weapon for the squad. Waller is already at the team facility, clearly fired up to make a difference in the NFC East. Not only that, but Waller is ready to make plays for quarterback Daniel Jones as well.

Jones, who signed his four-year, $160 million deal earlier this month, is understandably thrilled to have Waller in town with him. The two have already met in person in East Rutherford, and you can tell they are pretty pumped up about being new teammates.

Both Jones and Waller have Big Blue supporters fired up about what’s to come in 2023 and beyond. Despite missing 13 regular season games over the past two seasons, Waller is looking close to 100 percent these days and we don’t have to tell you he’s going to bust his hump to make sure he’s ready to rock for Week 1.

When he’s at full health, Waller indeed is one of the best tight ends in the game. His pass-catching abilities are hard to match, which is why so many people can’t wait to see what he’ll be able to do working with head coach Brian Daboll and offensive coordinator Mike Kafka.

The fact that the Giants only gave up a third-round pick – the one they received from the Chiefs for Kadarius Toney – only makes things even better. General manager Joe Schoen is going to keep working to improve this team on both sides of the ball, but landing someone like Waller has created quite the buzz for the G-Men.

Last season, Waller was only able to suit up for nine games, posting 28 receptions for 388 yards and three touchdowns. Those aren’t the stats you’d expect from a player of his caliber, but something tells us Waller will bounce back in a big way next fall and winter.
