For New York Giants fans who appreciate a bad dad joke: What do you call a rookie linebacker who haunts opposing quarterbacks?

Ab-ghoul Carter.

Happy Halloween Big Blue Nation. If you’ve made it this far without hiding under the bed, you’ve earned a king-size Snickers. Between the literal last-minute collapses and the mounting injuries, this season’s already felt like a haunted house. But in the spirit of the holiday, let’s lean in and spotlight the horrors that could still make things even spookier.

While the whole season has felt like a thriller in its own right, there's still plenty of time for more fright. Here are three scary scenarios that'll keep Giants fans up at night.

3 Halloween horrors that would send Giants fans screaming

Joe Schoen lets his best players go (again)

Whether by trade or by letting them walk, general manager Joe Schoen has a terrible time holding on to his best players. Saquon Barkley, Leonard Williams, Xavier McKinney, and Julian Love are just some of the names that come to mind. But with the Nov. 4 trade deadline right around the corner, it's becoming scarier than ever that Schoen might part ways with some of the team's best once again.

Highly sought-after pass-rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux is the name to keep an eye on. The 2022 fifth-overall pick is viewed as the odd man out in a rotation consisting of Brian Burns and Abdul Carter. And while his counting stats are down, one could make the argument that he's having his most well-rounded season of his four-year career.

Yes, Big Blue's season is essentially over at 2-6, but sending Thibs away for a draft pick is a horror movie no fan should have to sit through.

Shane Bowen continues calling defensive plays

At some point, someone has to say something, right? The Shane Bowen as defensive coordinator thing just isn't working. And it's getting worse by the week. After surrendering 33 points in the fourth quarter of their Week 7 game in Denver, Bowen's defense followed it up with an even worse 38-point allowed performance in Philadelphia.

In his 25 games as the playcaller, his defense has allowed 30-plus points seven times. That means 35 percent of the time, opposing offenses have a field day against his group. Yet he's still running the show. The 38-year-old must have incriminating evidence on head coach Brian Daboll because there's no way he should still have a job.

If they keep Bowen in charge of the defense, it'll continue to never play up to its potential, which is an objective nightmare.

Giants ignore upgrading Jaxson Dart's supporting cast

Rookie sensation Jaxson Dart is New York's next franchise quarterback. That was all but confirmed after winning October's Rookie of the Month Award on Thursday — an award never previously won by a Giants signal-caller before.

The craziest part is that he did that without star wide receiver Malik Nabers, who tore his ACL in Week 4. And now with electric rookie running back Cam Skattebo also out for the season with an ankle injury, Dart needs reinforcements yesterday.

The last thing this organization should do is send him out there with a lackluster group of playmakers. That could stunt his development, which is the ultimate worst-case scenario. As the trade deadline approaches, it's the perfect time to invest in their 22-year-old signal-caller to give him the help he deserves.
