The New York Giants are just weeks away from putting the pads on. Training camp might not be real football, but in the depths of the offseason, it feels like finding water in the desert.

The G-Men have undergone plenty of roster turnover this offseason after hiring John Harbaugh, so there are multiple new faces for fans to get used to.

A few of those players won't take long to become fan favorites in New York. These four new Giants additions will have us buying their jerseys by August.

These 3 New York Giants players will instantly become fan favorites in training camp

DT DJ Reader

Reader is much more than a gap-plugging veteran. He's a leader capable of turning the Giants' biggest weakness into a strength. Reader only has 18 sacks across his 10 NFL seasons, but he's one of the league's best run stuffers. The 32-year-old could provide a major boost to New York's league-worst run defense.

But fans won't just fall in love with Reader for his impact on the field. He's a leader off the field as well. Reader was the Detroit Lions' nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award in 2025 after organizing multiple events in support of the Detroit community. He's an easy player to root for.

LB Jack Kelly

A sixth-round rookie, Kelly didn't make headlines when his name was called in the draft. But his mentality on the field could make him stand out immediately in training camp.

Kelly plays like his hair is on fire, flying around the field with an intensity coaches can only hope to bring out of their players. He's more versatile than the typical off-ball linebacker, producing nine sacks in his final season at BYU. He'll likely be limited to a special teams role to start his Giants career, but Kelly will be an impact player for the Giants.

FB Patrick Ricard

Who do you put in front of Cam Skattebo, a maniacal downhill runner who loves nothing more than lowering his shoulder and knocking defenders off their feet? A fullback who loves the same things.

Ricard was one of the many former Baltimore Ravens John Harbaugh brought with him this offseason, and he might make the biggest difference in the first year of this new regime. His versatility and impact as a run blocker are undeniable. The six-time Pro Bowler could unlock Skattebo to reach his full potential this season.
