3. Eric Gray

A lot like Singletary, Eric Gray is having a lot of issues holding onto the ball. After a promising looking preseason, Giants fans were cautiously optimistic about Gray. We were hoping to see a big jump from his rookie to sophomore season. So far, it's been a mixed bag, and we can say with certainty that for now, Gray is RB3.

While Gray is looking like RB3, he is beginning to find a little role for himself in the rotation. Gray has been a productive weapon in the passing game. With Singletary hurt, Gray saw more time vs. Seattle and while he was productive before his costly fumble, the rookie Tracy was the story that everyone went home talking about. This was once again the case vs. the Bengals.

Gray wasn't used much vs. Cincy, finishing with three carries for 13 yards. When Singletary is back, he should (we hope) be the backup to Tracy. If that proves to be the case, Gray will then be the next man up. Regardless of what Brian Daboll decides, it's clear Gray is at the bottom of the pecking order.
