Through nine weeks, the New York Giants are 2-7, and with the team dropping three straight games, changes need to be made soon, which means general manager Joe Schoen and Co. should be making some calls.

After season-shifting victories over the Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles in Weeks 4 and 6 and a season-ending injury to star receiver Malik Nabers, many fans wondered whether the G-Men would buy or sell at Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET trade deadline.

They were rumored to be interested in several wideouts who could be on the market, such as Jaylen Waddle, Chris Olave, and Jakobi Meyers. Still, with the team's recent struggles, Big Blue could sell and look ahead to next season. That said, let's look at four players the Giants could realistically trade at the deadline:

4 players the Giants could trade away at this year's deadline

1: QB Russell Wilson

Rookie sensation Jaxson Dart continues to prove he's the quarterback of the future, since the franchise named him the starter in Week 4. On Sunday, Dart became the seventh quarterback in NFL history with 15 or more total touchdowns in his first six career starts.

It's clear with the 22-year-old under center, Big Blue has confidence they can beat anyone, leaving veteran backup signal-callers Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston on the bench. Wilson struggled significantly in the first three games for the Giants, and Winston hasn't even seen the field.

With Brian Daboll's squad having plenty of depth at the QB position and several teams in need of one, either of these veterans could be on the move. Schoen would be more inclined to move Wilson, since they have Winston under contract for at least one more season. There could be a team interested in the former Super Bowl Champion, who's contract expires as the end of the season.

2: WR Jalin Hyatt

The Giants may have a depleted wide receiver room and may look to add pass-catching depth at the deadline, but they may also look to trade third-year wideout Jalin Hyatt, who has struggled to make any impact.

The 24-year-old has had impressive training camps and continues to make the 53-man roster, but isn't productive when it counts. Through three seasons, Hyatt has played 39 games, starting 10, and has totaled 34 receptions for 452 yards with zero touchdowns.

Schoen drafted Hyatt with the 73rd pick of the 2023 Draft out of Tennessee with hopes that the deep threat would continue his college success, but that has not been the case. Now, it's time to move on from Hyatt and hope he can develop elsewhere and benefit from a new home.

3: OL Evan Neal

You can never have enough offensive linemen, but Big Blue is definitely open to trading one of its failed linemen to get out of his $24.6 million rookie contract. Evan Neal, who is in the final year of his contract, is unplayable at this stage of his career.

Neal was a highly touted offensive lineman out of Alabama and a former first-round pick in 2022, but has been disappointing since arriving in East Rutherford, leading many fans to be fed up with his performance on the field. Not to mention, injuries have also derailed the 25-year-old's career and set him back even further.

The seventh overall pick can't even see the field — he hasn't played a single snap, and he's sat on the bench every game so far this season. There's a team out there that desperately needs an offensive lineman and would be willing to take a flier on his athleticism, size, and draft pedigree. Schoen would be a fool to reject any offer coming his way for the much-maligned lineman.

4: CB Deonte Banks

Deonte Banks has been extremely disappointing since arriving in New York. The highly touted cornerback out of Maryland was NY's first-round pick in 2023; however, he has failed to meet expectations and should now be solely used as a trade candidate.

The 24-year-old had an impressive rookie campaign, but since then, he has not been productive, struggling in coverage and missing tackles when the defense needs it most. Not only has Banks not succeeded on the field, but he isn't necessarily a role model off of it either — look no further than Week 9's media escapades — as he avoided any questions after last week's loss to the Niners.

While the Giants should look to trade Banks, it may not be realistic unless they get secondary help in return. The team is thin at the defensive back position with Paulson Adebo and Cor'Dale Flott both injured at the moment, and may be forced to continue to start Banks in the meantime. Great.
