The New York Giants have a proven head coach in John Harbaugh, an ascending quarterback in Jaxson Dart, and top picks like Abdul Carter all over the defense. The 2026 season should be nothing but sunshine and rainbows, right?

Well, with all the uncertainty surrounding the health of this team's heavy hitters and a tough division, Harbaugh may end up in seller mode quicker than most anticipated.

If such a future is in the cards for Big Blue, these five players are good enough to get some nice assets back in a trade, but not good enough to be deemed a cornerstone.

5 Giants players who could become trade candidates

5. DL Shelby Harris

Harris is a solid gold veteran leader who will bring run defense and versatility to this defensive line. Harris should only be considered as a trade chip if Murphy's Law has its way with this team and the fanbase remains glued to Tankathon. Still, the 34-year-old has value after three nice seasons in Cleveland before arriving in New York.

4. LB Micah McFadden

Through almost no fault of his own, McFadden might be out of the Giants' long-term plans. With the signing of Tremaine Edmunds and the plan to use top pick Arvell Reese as more of an inside linebacker than an edge rusher early in his career, the clock may be close to striking midnight on one of Joe Schoen's few Day 3 developmental success stories in McFadden.

3. RB Tyrone Tracy Jr.

Tracy will likely be held onto until the Giants figure out where Cam Skattebo is at and how much they can get out of them. Tracy might get moved if Skattebo both returns healthy and starts to improve in his second season, as he would be able to get more in a trade than either Devin Singletary or Eric Gray. Back-to-back 700-yard seasons will make him fairly attractive.

2. WR Darius Slayton

Even if Slayton's snaps aren't decreased by the onslaught of veteran wide receivers on cheap deals like Odell Beckham Jr. and JuJu Smith-Schuster, the former Day 3 stud is not on very firm ground. Irrespective of what happens with Malik Nabers and his injury, Slayton could be traded if one of the veterans pops and rookie Malachi Fields adapts to the pro game.

1. EDGE Kayvon Thobodeaux

Surprise! More Kayvon speculation! It may be redundant, but he makes so much sense as a trade target that it would be foolish not to discuss it further. With teams around the league showing interest during the NFL Draft, all it would take is one concerning injury elsewhere for contenders and rebuilders alike to get Schoen on the phone and work out a deal for this still-developing speed rusher.
