Abdul Carter connection gives Giants a shocking edge in Micah Parsons trade drama

Did someone say Micah Parsons wants out of Dallas?

What's better than one? Two. Well, the New York Giants could have two top edge rushers who both played at Penn State in 2025 if Joe Schoen makes a call to a divisional rival.

Yes, I'm referring to Big Blue rookie Abdul Carter, but also All-Pro Cowboys defensive end Micah Parsons, who thanked Dallas with a lengthy statement on his personal X account on Friday, sharing that he has requested a trade from the team.

"I have made a tough decision. I no longer want to play for the Dallas Cowboys," Parsons said in the statement.

The Cowboys and Parsons have been struggling to make any progress on a contract extension, which is likely the main reason the 26-year-old is looking for a change of scenery.

Interestingly enough, Parsons has publicly stated on social media in the past that he would love to play with Carter in the NFL before the Giants took the 2024 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year with the third overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

It may be too far-fetched for Jerry Jones and the Cowboys to make a trade with the G-Men, but it's worth Schoen at least picking up the phone to see what the asking price is. You'd have to think Dallas would be asking for multiple first-round picks, which would be way too steep for the Giants, but wouldn't it be priceless to make Parsons' dream come true?

Micah Parsons and Abdul Carter playing together would feed families

The thought of Carter and Parsons playing together in New York in 2025 would leave Cowboys fans speechless, but it would be music to Giants fans' ears. Not only did both Carter and Parsons wear No. 11 at Penn State, and they are originally from Pennsylvania, but they have also been compared because of their similar play styles.

Carter and Parsons have been compared to one another and are very similar to one another on and off the field. Both were also first-round picks and were first-team All-Big Ten and Consensus All-Americans at Penn State.

Parsons is also a two-time first-team All-Pro and was the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2021 since entering the league. Carter, on the other hand, is on a similar trajectory as he is the early favorite to win the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award this year.

The thought of both Nittany Lions playing on the same defensive line together in New York has Big Blue fans excited about the possibility of being a part of a front seven that consists of Dexter Lawrence II, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and Brian Burns.

Although it's unlikely the Cowboys will answer Schoen's calls unless the Giants' offer is one Dallas literally cannot refuse, it's still exciting to think about and would have opposing quarterbacks and offensive linemen up at night.
