Every New York Giants fan that has a pulse knows that Brian Daboll is on his last legs as head coach, amd it's been that way for a while. Big Blue is amid a three-game losing streak that started with a pathetic Week 7 collapse in Denver, and that game could have marked the end of the Daboll era.
WFAN's Shaun Morash reported that John Mara was ready (and going) to fire Daboll on the plane after the 34-33 defeat, but ultimately changed his tune. It's clear he's already on borrowed time, so if Mara is frustrated now, that anger will ultimately grow worse by the end of the season.
It feels like only a matter of time before Daboll is fired, but it remains to be seen if Joe Schoen will be joining him. The coaching staff needs a complete overhaul in New York, especially in getting rid of DC Shane Bowen but does Mara want to task another new regime with developing Jaxson Dart?

It's hard to blame Mara for that rash decison. If I had to guess, several Giants fans exited that game wanting that same outcome, but you can't blame him for choosing not to make a critical decison out of anger. But when the season ends, it would be a total shock if Daboll is given another year.
He's done a solid job with Dart's development, but that's it. Once this team fully fortifies this offensive line and adds another weapon or two, practically all of the pieces will be in place to expidite this rebuild. And Daniel Jones' MVP caliber season in Indianapolis is making him even look more foolish.
The former Coach of the Year hasn't enjoyed a winning season since his first with the Giants, and it's been all downhill since. The G-Men look primed to be selecting in the top 10 for the third consecutive draft, and there's no excuse for that despite the inuries this roster has endured this season.
Moreover, for a guy who was heralded as an "offensive guru" for his work with Josh Allen, he and Mike Kafka's scheme has left much to be desired. The Giants are below average in the NFL in practically every offensive statistic, and this offense is almost unwatchable without Cam Skattebo and Malik Nabers.
The Giants have a talented roster, but it is so painfully obvious that the players are no longer bought in and that Daboll has lost the locker room. So if they want to effectively complete the rebuild, a change in leadership is the next step—and John Mara is certainly aware of that belief.
