Cam Skattebo’s rookie season might be over, but that doesn’t mean he’s staying quiet — not even remotely. The fourth-round pick made an appearance at WWE’s Monday Night Raw on Monday night, and of course he ended up in the middle of a ringside scuffle. It was peak Skatt energy, straight from the top ropes, and it definitely got people talking.
Talk about a cameo.
It’s not shocking he gravitated toward the wrestling world. The guy plays like the human version of the Tasmanian Devil, so the crossover makes sense. The timing, though, is another story.
The 23-year-old is only a few weeks removed from an open tibia fracture, a ruptured deltoid ligament, and a dislocated ankle he suffered against the Philadelphia Eagles. So the visual of him getting pushed around, even lightly, understandably raised some eyebrows.
One person who didn’t love it: former NFL safety T.J. Ward, who jumped on X (formerly Twitter) and delivered his thoughts on his involvement in the show:
This how you make sure you have a short NFL career 🤦🏽♂️ https://t.co/i1Vzj1mv9s

In all honesty, the fourth-round pick wasn’t doing anything wild. It was quick, minimal, and more for show than anything else. Still, for a guy recovering from a major ankle injury, seeing him jump into a WWE segment while he’s supposed to be rehabbing wasn’t exactly the best.
What makes it worse is that it didn’t happen in a vacuum. This all came about when the Giants’ rookies were already having themselves a week. Abdul Carter was reportedly sleeping through walkthroughs. Jaxson Dart is still working his way through concussion protocol. Add in the team sitting at 2-9, and you get a fanbase watching its three most important rookies in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Skatt has been a fan favorite from the minute he arrived, and nobody questions what he brings on the field. But Giants fans would much rather see him focused on getting healthy for 2026 than popping up in a wrestling match at Madison Square Garden.
Skattebo’s future matters a whole lot more than a WWE cameo, and the G-Men can’t exactly afford any more setbacks. However, as long as he's not harming himself or screwing up his recovery, let the guy have some fun. It's not like he's coming back this year anyway.
