Daniel Jones is doing something that sounds like a pipe dream to Giants fans

This seems made up.

For six seasons Daniel Jones had New York Giants fans believing only one thing could have been true. All of the critics were right back during draft time.

Jones simply wasn't good. He wasn't good enough to be a starting quarterback. That was the narrative and, for the vast majority of those six seasons, Jones proved it right. There was no righting all of his wrongs, especially not the mistakes he made under pressure.

Oddly enough, Jones is now thriving as the starting quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts. One week had eyebrows raised, but it was just one game. But now, after two more strong outings, Jones is actually proving all of his doubters wrong -- especially when facing pressure.

Through three weeks, Jones currently holds the league's second-best overall QBR on throws when he is under pressure.

Daniel Jones may be thriving in Indy, but the situation isn't nearly the same

Now, this isn't to take anything away from Jones. Yes, what he is doing in Indianapolis is impressive and, to be frank, Giants fans should feel happy for him. This team's situation is much different now under the command of Jaxson Dart, and hopefully he pans out. But, the Giants are looking ahead.

Still, one can't help but notice that Jones' situation is much different in Indy. Through these three games, he's only been under pressure on 14.3 percent of his dropbacks.

While he was in New York, he never finished a season with lower than a 23.3 pressure percentage and, on two occasions, he finished a season having been pressured on over 30 percent of his drop-backs.

The Giants have not had a favorable offensive line in what feels like ages. Draft misses have continued to haunt the franchise, but most of all, they haunted Jones himself. Is it any wonder that he would go succeed elsewhere after leaving New York?

Is it any wonder that Saquon Barkley would go on to have massive success after leaving New York?

The offensive line can be given a large portion of this blame, and maybe even Brian Daboll, who is still on the hot seat and trying to save his job.

Jones is having success with the Colts. Good for him. But, let's remember these situations are, indeed, different. And, let's be real. Nothing we say, now, is going to change what happened over those six years.

Now, we focus on the Dart era.
