When will former NY Giants running back Saquon Barkley stop doing ridiculous things?

Against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley did the impossible. His highlight-reel play not only became the talk of the week but could very well be the play of the year across all sports.

It’s no wonder the Giants miss Barkley. His resurgence in Philly has only amplified the narrative that GM Joe Schoen isn’t equipped to guide this team forward. Barkley is on an absolute tear this season, having played in all eight games, rushing for 925 yards and six touchdowns, and adding an additional 146 yards through the air with two touchdowns.

He’s a legitimate MVP candidate, and all Big Blue can do is watch as their once-beloved running back dominates the league for a despised division rival.

We're left wondering how the NY Giants sideline would have reacted to this unbelievable play from Saquon Barkley

It’s the kind of move that once brought MetLife Stadium to its feet, but now it’s lighting up the sidelines of Philadelphia.

The play was so sensational that the Eagles have even coined a new term for defenders caught off guard by Saquon’s moves: they’ve been “Barkleyed.” To twist the knife even further, announcers took a jab at New York, remarking, “Poor Giants fans sitting at home watching this.”

Really, did we need that reminder?

Adding insult to injury, the Eagles’ sideline is brimming with excitement and disbelief as Barkley executes such an amazing play. Just check out the reactions of No. 90 and No. 32 (Jordan Davis and Reed Blankenship). Their reactions speak volumes: hands on heads and jaws dropped to the floor in sheer disbelief - it's pure amazement.

It’s tough to watch that and not wish those were Giants players Dexter Lawrence and Adoree' Jackson sharing that moment instead.

The Eagles sideline’s reaction is the perfect example of FOMO. How can you watch that video and not wish you were part of such an incredible moment? It’s the kind of play that many football fans may never witness again.

As Barkley continues to thrive, Giants fans are left pondering what might have been had he remained in New York. His explosive ability could have transformed the Giants’ struggling offense, providing Daniel Jones with a reliable playmaker to ease the pressure. Instead, they must contend with the reality of watching their former star excel for a rival.

Ultimately, the juxtaposition of Barkley’s success with the Giants’ ongoing struggles serves as a poignant reminder of the choices made in the front office. As the season progresses, one can only hope that the Giants find their own star playmaker to create their own unforgettable moments.
