The New York Giants have already gotten off to a strong start to the offseason by hiring John Harbaugh as their next head coach. The vibes are high for the G-Men for the first time in a long time, as the team actually has hope surrounding it. But after Super Bowl 60, they have a full month before the official start to free agency.

But during Super Bowl 60, Giants fans heard the name of an ex-player who made the play that effectively clinched the victory for the win.

In the fourth quarter, Drake Maye and the New England Patriots seemed to be picking up momentum late. Trailing 19-7, Maye heaved a deep pass to the middle of the field. The issue was that Maye underthrew wide receiver Kyle Williams, and the pass was intercepted by Seahawks safety Julian Love.

Former Giants safety Julian Love seals Super Bowl 60 win for Seahawks

It's truly only fitting that a Patriots Super Bowl loss was clinched by a former Giants player.

The Giants, and specifically General Manager Joe Schoen, have been under ridicule by fans and media for some of his decisions. Schoen parted ways with plenty of players as he tried to build the team in his own image. The likes of running back Saquon Barkley, safety Xavier McKinney, and defensive tackle Leonard Williams were all shown the door by Schoen. Love was also one of the first, as Schoen let him leave for free agency in 2022.

The Seahawks capitalized, and it panned out for them and Love. In his first season with the Seahawks, he made the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career and earned a three-year, $36 million contract extension. Now, in the 2025-26 season, Love is a Super Bowl champion.

The hope is that the Giants can make a return to the Super Bowl in the very near future. As bad as things have gotten in the past couple of years, there is promising players on the roster, such as quarterback Jaxson Dart, running back Cam Skattebo, defensive linemen Brian Burns and Abdul Carter. The hope is that Harbaugh and his coaching staff can get the most out of the players on the roster and those they bring in this offseason.

Until then, Giants fans are likely sending a congratulations to Love and Williams, both of whom won a Super Bowl title with the Seahawks.
