Some NFL players earn roster spots with freakish athleticism and uncoachable traits. Others do it by having an elite football IQ or years of proven production.
Former New York Giants safety Beau Brade apparently took a different approach: Be in two places at once. Folks, you’re going to want to make sure your seat backs and tray tables are in their full upright and locked position for this.
According to the NFL transaction wire, Brade worked out for both the Washington Commanders and Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday, which doesn’t seem possible until you realize a flight from Washington to Cincinnati is roughly an hour and a half. The miles paid off for the 26-year-old, who landed (pun intended) himself a job, ultimately signing with the Bengals’ practice squad later in the day.

I’m not here to question the NFL transaction wire. I’m simply here to figure out how Brade was able to pull this off without having any hidden powers or advanced technology in his possession.
There’s technically a world -- could be this one -- where Brade woke up, worked out for one team, hopped on a plane, worked out for another, and still had enough time afterward to sign a contract.
If that’s actually what happened, forget the practice squad. Get this guy on the 53.
Brade’s on-field résumé wasn’t exactly forcing the Giants to keep him around this summer. New York claimed the former Maryland safety off waivers from Baltimore in August 2025 after the Ravens released him during initial roster cuts, and while he stuck on Big Blue's active roster for the season, almost all of his work came on special teams.
He played 193 special teams snaps compared to just one defensive snap, finishing the year with two tackles across 15 games. Even with his previous connection to head coach John Harbaugh from their Baltimore days, the former Terrapin once again couldn’t survive final cuts this past August.
Cincy added Brade to its P-Squad, where he'll be joined by another former Giant. The Bengals signed tight end Tanner Hudson from the practice squad to the active roster on Tuesday, reuniting two guys whose respective stays in North Jersey probably aren’t getting documentaries anytime soon.
Hudson caught 10 passes for 132 yards across 11 games for the G-Men in 2022. Brade played exactly one defensive snap three years later. Giants legends might be pushing it.
Still, Brade supposedly showed up for two workouts in two different cities on the same day and walked away employed (anything for those miles). His talent might not have popped during his time in New York, but you can’t question the hustle.
