The New York Giants have John Harbaugh in the building as I write this, and they're pushing really hard to make a deal happen. They're in pretty good standing in the Harbaugh sweepstakes because his first in-person interview is in New York, but the Falcons and Titans are still fresh on their tails.
The 63-year-old still plans to take his other two interviews in Atlanta and Tennessee, but the team is really putting on the full-court press to make it happen. The Giants are clearly leading the pack for Harbaugh, which led SNY's Connor Hughes to report that they are working to get a deal done today.

They're willing to not only pay him, but also whatever his staff wants.
There are factors outside of New York's control. There's a lot of mutual respect between Matt Ryan & Harbaugh.…
Hughes' report is not particularly surprising, especially since John Mara and Joe Schoen are already pulling out all the stops. The last time the G-Men were in this same situation was with Kenny Golladay, so here's hoping this visit results in a deal, just as it did with Golladay.
Giants do not want to let John Harbaugh leave the facility without a firm commitment
The Super Bowl-winning head coach is evidently Big Blue's top choice to succeed Brian Daboll, but the interest is mutual. He seems to be a pretty big fan of Jaxson Dart, and an in-person lunch with Mara's brother Chris in Baltimore this weekend certainly doesn't hurt their chances with Harbaugh.
But when I say the Giants are pulling out all the stops, they are pulling out all the stops. Since Harbaugh is the belle of this head-coaching ball, he has made many demands about what he wants from his next team, but Mara and Schoen are willing to meet all of his requirements.
Hughes added that New York is both willing to pay him what he wants and also pay his staff. He'll have a lot more control with the Giants than with anyone else, since Schoen is a sitting duck. The Falcons have a GM vacancy and a better roster, and the Titans have Cam Ward, but that's all they have on the Giants.
However, Hughes also revealed that Harbaugh has a great deal of respect for the new Falcons' president of football operations, Matt Ryan. He wants to give the Titans and Falcons a chance to make their pitch, but the Giants are preparing an offer he can't refuse, so he finally puts pen to paper.
Adding Harbaugh would reset the culture overnight and return the playoff aspirations that existed under Tom Coughlin, so this is the outcome most fans want. As for what he desires, the Giants check off every box, so don't be surprised if the inevitable becomes a reality before the end of the day.
