You've got to be kidding. That's what countless NY Giants fans have on their minds after Malik Nabers went down with a knee injury on Sunday against the Chargers. It just really had to happen in the first start for Jaxson Dart, right?

Giants fans say the quiet part out loud after scary Malik Nabers' injury

Unfortunately, things were just made so much worse. According to Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, the belief is that Nabers has suffered a torn ACL and that he'll be out for the rest of the season. We don't have to tell you that this is a catastrophic injury for Brian Daboll and the G-Men:

NY Giants WR Malik Nabers is believed to have torn his ACL in a huge blow for Big Blue

In the first half, Dart tossed a deep ball downfield on a free play for the Giants. On that play, Nabers reached high into the sky to try and come down with the ball, but when he planted his right leg to jump for the ball, it was clear that something terrible happened, as he reached down in pain.

He was then on the turf and it looked like he was screaming in agony. The Giants didn't waste any time in bringing out the cart for him and now Rapoport and Pelissero have the NY faithful ready to hit the panic button now that Nabers is expected to be out for a long time due to his serious knee injury.

Entering the Week 4 dance with the Chargers, Nabers had 16 receptions for 251 yards and two touchdowns to his name. The former No. 6 overall pick was an absolute stud during his rookie campaign in 2024 and the hope was that he'd take his game to a new level this fall.

With Dart indeed making his QB1 debut in this one, Daboll and Co. were ready to see what the Ole Miss product and Nabers would be able to get done together. Early on, Dart has people fired up thanks to his dual-threat abilities, but the Nabers news now has provided provervial rain on what was supposed to be a memorable day for the Giants in East Rutherford. It's easy to feel pretty bad for the speester too.
