That Giants' offense continues to be the main topic of concern ahead of the 2025 season, with most of the conversation surrounding their pending quarterback decision. While that makes sense, given that they have a couple of journeyman veterans and a rookie to decide between, there is also room to highlight other areas of the roster that will be intriguing to watch as the team returns for training camp in a few weeks.

Besides the other obvious group, the offensive line, the receiving corps has garnered some fascinating attention in recent days, with longtime reporter Ed Valentine making a startling yet exciting prediction about one undrafted free agent.

Valentine's latest prediction claims that at least one UDFA receiver will make the 2025 roster, which is a big projection considering the amount of competition at the position in New York. Taking his prediction even further, he suggests who that player could be, and he is instantly someone Giants fans should keep an eye on this summer.

The Giants might have found a hidden gem in a undrafted rookie receiver

That player is 24-year-old Dalen Cambre, a predominantly special-teams player out of Louisiana. Oddly enough, we are yet to see him practice as such with the Giants, as Valentine notes, but he's already seen enough to project he will be the guy to make the final 53.

"I am on record as having said an undrafted free agent rookie receiver will make the roster. Right now, it is a coin flip for me between Cambre, Felton and Collins. Even though spring production in shorts and t-shirts doesn’t mean much, right now I am going with Cambre because of his spring performance. I was shocked by his play as a receiver this spring after getting just 10 receptions in his college career. He is a special-teamer first, and we haven’t seen him do that yet."

Hearing that there might be an up-and-coming secret weapon for whatever quarterback is put under center to work with is an exciting notion for fans to get behind. Although Cambre might not be the most exciting candidate, his potential is very much needed in what has been an otherwise forgettable offense, especially since the playcalling is a big question before the season begins.

His versatility at the position makes him a strong candidate to make the team, as well, as highlighting special teams is incredibly important in today's NFL. If Cambre can manage to be productive in both aspects of the game, then he likely will lock up a spot on the roster far earlier than anyone could have predicted.

At the very least, he's a player who will be the center of attention for many throughout training camp and the preseason, even if he does only end up on the practice squad. If Cambre can be what Valentine believes he can, then it might be fair to assume his time there won't last long, and we could see him on the game day roster sooner rather than later.
