After a disastrous 2025 season, the New York Giants will be in the market for a head coach this offseason.

New York finished off a 4-13 campaign in 2025, and while they may have their quarterback of the future in Jaxson Dart, the wins were just simply not there for Big Blue. This next head-coaching hiring cycle seems pivotal for general manager Joe Schoen, who was given another chance to run things back in East Rutherford despite a woeful 20-45-1 record under his watch.

Despite the lack of wins and the poor product on the field over the last couple of seasons, the head coaching vacancy is rumored to be highly coveted, primarily because of the excitement and flashes of greatness Dart has displayed under center, as well as the other talent pieces this roster possesses. And while the 22-year-old is not expected to be a part of the vetting process when New York begins interviewing candidates, Dart certainly made his feelings known about a head coach candidate who was recently fired.

Jaxson Dart speaks highly of recently fired Browns HC Kevin Stefanski

Dart spoke with the press on Monday and was asked about his thoughts on Kevin Stefanski after the Cleveland Browns fired him:

"Coach Stefanksi is great. He's had a really good career, especially from an offensive side of things. I thought the visit I had with him and his staff went well, he's a really good coach."

Stefanski spent six seasons in Cleveland (2020-2025), taking the Browns to the playoffs during the 2020 and 2023 seasons. During his first season as the head coach in 2020, the Browns clinched their first playoff berth since 2002 and won their first playoff game since 1994. He also took them back to postseason two seasons later and was named AP Coach of the Year during both campaigns.

But after the infamous Deshaun Watson trade blew up in the Browns' faces, the lack of strong quarterback play led Cleveland to go just 8-26 during Stefanki's final two seasons. Ultimately, he was the scapegoat and was let go.

Even though the wins weren't there, Stefanski has proven to be a good head coach and has helped transform an NFL franchise that has been a laughingstock. We still have ways to go before the New York Giants name their head coach, but for now, Jaxson Dart seems open to the idea of having Kevin Stefanski at the helm.
