Ladies and gentlemen, quarterback Jaxson Dart has arrived. It was an emotional day for the rookie and the NY Giants as a whole, but an upset win over the Los Angeles Chargers was just posted. Dart had a day to rememeber, firing fans up in his first game as the starter.
Dart got things going with a fantastic 15-yard touchdown on his very first drive and his intensity didn't let up at all throughout the four quarters of action. Right after the final whistle, Dart took center stage on CBS to talk about his memorable debut. As you might have been able to guess, the youngster was pretty fied up over how things went down for him.
Ian Rapoport just confirmed Giants' worst fears with brutal Malik Nabers update
"Definitely a special ending, but just the start of the journey." - Jaxson Dart to our @Melanie_Collins following his first career victory pic.twitter.com/kriNY6fKOL

Jaxson Dart helped power the Giants over the Chargers in a thrilling QB1 debut
"Yeah it was definitely a special ending to just start the journey," Dart said. "It wasn't clean, it wasn't easy. Our defense played awesome. I was just proud of our team believing until the end. I feel like we've been close in the past and our issue was just finishing. Happy guys were able to pull through and kind of have that momentum at the end of the game and obviously the defense just played great the whole game."
It's easy to see why Dart was so jacked up. The stands in East Rutherford were PACKED for his special day and he did not disappoint at all. In the end, the Ole Miss product tossed for 111 yardss and a touchdown, while adding more 54 yards on the ground and another score.
As happy as Dart and the Giants are to post the first win of the season, it didn't come without a major loss injury wise. In the first half, former No. 6 overall pick Malik Nabers went down with a serious-looking knee injury and it has since been reported by Ian Rapoport that the belief is he tore his ACL.
That changes everything for the Giants in 2025 and it no question is going to have a negative impact for Dart and his development this fall. Not having a true WR1 on the field to help him out is a bummer for so many different reasons.
With that said, there will be a 'next man up' mentality for the Giants the rest of the way and Dart is going to have confidence in knowing he can lead the G-Men to victory even if they are underdogs. He showed a lot of moxie in this one and now fans are ready to see what else he can get done running the offense moving forward.
