The New York Giants are very much in the honeymoon phase of the John Harbaugh era, and Jaxson Dart is no exception. It's all hearts and googly eyes between the club's new head coach and electrifying young quarterback as they embark on their first Valentine's Day together.
By several accounts, Harbaugh filled the Giants' vacancy largely due to his belief in Dart. The former holds the latter in high regard, and the feeling is evidently mutual.
FanSided had the privilege of interviewing Dart and his backfield mate/BFF, Giants running back Cam Skattebo. The awesome conversation fittingly included wet willies, which celebrities they'd want to see in the NFL and fast-food chain rankings. However, playful banter aside, their admiration for Harbaugh is clear.
More specifically, Dart's comments about Harbaugh are exactly what Big Blue Nation wants to hear.
Jaxson Dart fires up Giants fans with glowing John Harbaugh endorsement
Dart and Harbaugh have hit the ground running. They communicate daily, and the Giants' signal-caller is eager to soak up everything he can from an all-time great leader:
"I talk to Harbs every day. I have a tremendous amount of respect for him, and I’m really excited to get the opportunity to play for him. He was the hottest name on the market; we chose him, and he chose us, so I can’t wait to get started. "Giants QB Jaxson Dart on John Harbaugh
Giants fans know how much ex-head coach Brian Daboll meant to Dart, and vice versa. Their well-chronicled connection raised valid questions about how the 2025 No. 25 overall pick may respond to a regime change. Nevertheless, it feels safe to say that Harbaugh has alleviated any concerns since he arrived in East Rutherford.
There has been a lot of buzz surrounding the Harbaugh-Giants partnership, and understandably so. After all, not often does a Super Bowl-winning, future Hall of Fame sideline general become available, let alone turn around and join a struggling franchise. That's a testament to Dart's presence and potential, and their budding relationship is a promising sign for what lies ahead.
While Harbaugh doesn't call offensive plays, he'll play an incredibly valuable role in Dart's development; it's not always about X's and O's. Having an accomplished mentor to show you the ropes of being a professional in every sense of the word matters too.
