Let’s not overthink this. Jaxson Dart talked to Josh Allen about Brian Daboll’s system, and now I am absolutely convinced the New York Giants nailed this. You can't tell me otherwise. That’s it. That’s the article.
You can throw out every stat, every training camp breakdown, every tweet about how Dart looks in seven-on-sevens (he looks good). None of it matters anymore. Dart went straight to the source. He talked to the reigning MVP about how to thrive under Daboll, and now he’s about to step on the same field Allen made a throne on Saturday for preseason game No. 1.

This is exactly why John Mara didn’t fire Dabs. This is what the fourth-year HC was building toward. All the suffering we sat through with Daniel Jones? All the speculation about whether or not Daboll would survive? It was all leading to this. And Dart, the guy we traded up for, is soaking it in from the one quarterback who actually gave Daboll this shot in the first place.
Dart learning Daboll’s system straight from the MVP himself is everything
When the media asked Dart how he’s getting ready for his first NFL game, he gave the only answer Giants fans needed to hear:
“He talked a lot about leadership,” Dart said about Allen. “That was kind of like his main thing, and then trying to be the best teammate for the guys around you, because as a quarterback, you have to raise the standards of everybody. Obviously, schematics, I think that what shows up on Coach Dabs’ record is being able to coach many different quarterbacks who have different skill sets and kind of molding offenses around what they’re good at, so kind of just hone in on the key details of Coach Dabs’ offense and really trust it.”
That quote alone should be on a (very large) banner outside MetLife. I don’t want to hear another peep about whether Dart is ready. He is. Because he has to be. Because Josh Allen.
All jokes aside, this is exactly why the Giants cleaned their QB house this offseason, but kept Daboll. First Jameis Winston. Then Russell Wilson. And then they got Dart, who's already plugged into the Daboll-Allen pipeline like he’s been in Buffalo since 2018.
Big Blue finally has a quarterback who doesn’t need his hand held throughout the entire process. And it finally has a front office in touch with what to do with a first-round QB. No more reaching. No more forcing. Just a rookie... learning from the guy... who actually figured it out... from the guy... who's now the rookie's head coach.
Giants fans don’t need anything else. Dart talked to Allen. Daboll is still here. That’s all the proof we need. Validation all but confirmed.
