At this point, New York Giants fans know exactly what Cam Skattebo is. He's an absolute maniac — in the best way possible.

Skattebo will never be the biggest or fastest guy on the field, but he's a freight train. Get in his way at your own risk, because the unrelenting running back won't attempt to go around you; he'll try to go through you.

While Skattebo's powerful and borderline reckless style can lend itself to injuries, as he experienced firsthand as a rookie, it's captivating and contagious. His tenacity and physicality get everyone (except opposing defenses) going, namely Giants right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor.

During a recent appearance on Good Morning Football, Eluemunor talked about how Skattebo's presence uplifts the G-Men in more ways than one.

"It's a really cool feeling having a guy back there in the backfield where you know if you just create a hole for him, he's going to hit that thing head-on," Eluemunor stated. "Doesn't care who's in it; it could be Jalen Carter ... King Kong, [Skattebo] doesn't care. He's going to try and put his head down and run you over, and as an offensive lineman, that just not only builds your confidence, but makes you want to go even harder. ... "

All Skattebo needs is a gap, and he'll "hit that thing hard as hell," no matter who's in front of him, Eluemunor said, including fictional monsters. The former's mindset has clearly rubbed off on the latter and the rest of New York's blocking unit.

If Skattebo can handle upwards of 20 grueling carries, why shouldn't the O-linemen roll their sleeves up and match his energy? He can do more with less than most, though ultimately, a tailback will only go as far as the protection can take him. Eluemunor and the rest of the starting five have to play with a similar ferocity.

Not to mention, Eluemunor and Co. risk sticking out like a sore thumb if they don't put their bodies on the line to Skattebo's degree. The 2025 fourth-round pick is so unafraid of contact, even relishing it, that anything short of a bruising group up front would be glaring.

Skattebo's aggressive, downhill running isn't always pretty, yet it strikes all the right chords in New York. The former Arizona State star perfectly embodies the city and franchise he now represents, motivating his teammates in the process.

Hopefully, Skattebo can get back to playing hard-nosed football in short order. He's currently rehabbing from a dislocated right ankle, a fractured fibula and a ruptured deltoid ligament that cut his promising 2025 campaign short.

In eight games (five starts) last season, Skattebo ran for 410 yards and five touchdowns on 110 attempts. He also caught 24 passes for an additional 207 yards and two scores, showcasing his plus pass-catching skills.
