Buckle up. This one’s about to divide the New York Giants fanbase like few moves can.
Just when you thought the Dexter Lawrence news was enough, Joe Schoen said, “Hold my beer” and did his best to start a social media firestorm because he can, I guess. According to the NY Post’s Ryan Dunleavy, former Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is in the building for a physical:

The 33-year-old worked out with the team this morning. SNY’s Connor Hughes reports that nothing is happening right now and that any move would come after the draft. So no need to panic for either side... yet.
I’m betting half of you just rolled your eyes, murmuring (or shouting) that he’s washed and that the experiment failed years ago, so why even entertain this again? The other half is through the roof and totally on board with bringing OBJ back into the locker room. There is no middle ground.

Where to even start with this one...
OBJ is a touchy subject, especially around Big Blue circles - and for good reason. On one hand, his early career ridiculousness was borderline unfair -- he had all the makings of being the best receiver in the league. On the other hand, injury concerns, on- and off-field behavioral issues, and friction with team management got in the way of him being truly special. He’s left a “what could have been” taste in a lot of Giants fans’ mouths.
He was never the same after the Giants traded him to the Cleveland Browns back in 2019. That was his last season recording over 1,000 receiving yards, and in the seven years since, he’s bounced around with the Rams, Ravens, and Dolphins, and now he’s been playing flag football.
Fans in the comment section were quick to respond, showing just how split they are. One commenter wrote, "Tell me Joe Schoen is desperate to change the narrative without telling me he's desperate to change the narrative." Clearly not a fan of the move.
Another wrote, "OMG OMG OMG ITS HAPPENING." No, you calm down!

This was about as "middle ground" as I could find: "I love how people in the comments seem to think the Giants are getting prime OBJ. I’m all for bringing him to camp to see if he has anything left, but to get all excited about this is ridiculous."
As I said, it’s pretty split. Regardless, what an epic move from Schoen to do something like this not even 48 hours after the Lawrence trade. Guy is done caring about emotions, that’s for sure. However this plays out, this was one hell of a firestorm for a Monday afternoon.
