25% of teams across the NFL are in the market for a new head coach this offseason, with the New York Giants one of them.
After firing Brian Daboll midway through the 2025 season, the Giants are in desperate need to hit a home run with this next head coaching hire, as they will be on their fifth head coach since 2016. While John Harbaugh is someone New York is reportedly eying to help turn things around, it is certainly not a guarantee that they will win the pursuit of this highly coveted candidate.
Even though Harbaugh has reported a strong interest in coming to East Rutherford, the Giants' predicted next head coach might disappoint some fans.
Giants predicted to hire Kevin Stefanski after missing out on John Harbaugh
In an article for Bleacher Report, Krisopher Knox predicted that the G-Men will hire former Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanksi, while Harbaugh will head to Atlanta to coach the Falcons:
"The Giants will probably make their run at Harbaugh, who has had more consistent success than Stefanski, plus a Super Bowl on his resume," Knox wrote. "The prediction here, though, is that they circle back to Stafanski in an effort to get the most out of Dart and a young offensive group."

Stefanski was the Browns' head coach for six seasons (2020-2025), posting a 45-56 record. Despite going just 8-26 over his final two years at the helm, Stefanksi helped clinch the Browns' first playoff berth since 2022 during his first year with the team in 2020, as well as winning AP Coach of the Year.
He also led Cleveland to the playoffs in 2023, taking home coach of the year honors for the second time.
Despite winning just eight games in his final two seasons, the Browns' poor record was largely due to a weak quarterback room, with the infamous Deshaun Watson trade proving disastrous, leading to Stefanski's dismissal.
While John Harbaugh should be viewed as the most sought-after head coach for the Giants to pursue, bringing in a guy like Kevin Stefanski to help develop a young quarterback, such as Jaxson Dart, could also be the right move to help turn around this franchise.
