During Tuesday’s practice session, Malik Nabers appeared to get shaken up on a running play. After staying on the ground for a few seconds (which felt like hours), the New York Giants star receiver got up under his own power and walked off the field with the trainers.
Nabers was seen grabbing his shoulder and went into the field house with the training staff to take a closer look at whatever was bothering the 21-year-old.

Only head trainer Ronnie Barnes returned from the field house, giving head coach Brian Daboll an update. Nabers didn’t return to practice, signaling he was likely done for the day.
No reports have come out yet regarding the severity of the injury, but it’s one to monitor closely. It’s fingers crossed at this point that it’s just a stinger and he’ll be good as new soon. Whatever the diagnosis, the scare was a sharp reminder of just how valuable Nabers is to everything Big Blue is trying to accomplish.
It will only take one Malik Nabers-sized injury to bring the whole thing down
There’s no overstating what Nabers means to this Giants offense. He’s the motor, the straw that stirs the drink. Without him on the field, this team goes from dangerous to dull very quickly.
Even in a season dealing with a lingering toe injury from college and a quarterback carousel consisting of Daniel Jones, Drew Lock, and Tommy DeVito, the rookie Pro Bowler still put up a franchise-record 109 receptions for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns.

With a better offensive line and quarterback room, it’s fair to assume he’ll have an even bigger year this season. But if there’s one thing that could hold him back, it’s his body. And that has to scare the you-know-what out of Giants fans.
Speaking of the toe injury, Nabers played through a soft tissue issue all last season. It was something the staff knew about—and something he’s reportedly been managing since his LSU days.
He can obviously play through it, but at what point do people in the building start getting concerned that this might need more attention than the casual downplay it’s been getting? It’s been swept under the rug for at least a year now.
Tuesday's incident was a wake-up call. It's time to rethink strategy here before things go off the rails. We'll have more information on his apparent shoulder injury as reports come out. For now, it's one big collective breath hold for Big Blue Nation as everyone anxiously awaits the update.
