In the wake of Jaxson Dart's season-ending knee injury, every quarterback imaginable has been thrown around as a potential replacement for the New York Giants. Whether it's Colin Kaepernick, Tua Tagovailoa, or Shedeur Sanders, there's somebody out there who thinks they're the answer.
The latest to be added to the mix? It's 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers. Ryan Pawloski of Still Curtain, FanSided's dedicated Pittsburgh Steelers site, proposed that the Steelers could ship Rodgers to East Rutherford if their season goes awry.
He pitched Rodgers as a way for the Giants to stay afloat in John Harbaugh's first season in charge, giving the veteran QB a meaningful final campaign while allowing Pittsburgh to move on.
Giants general manager Joe Schoen shouldn't even begin to consider the possibility of trading for Rodgers.

Is there a time when trading draft capital away for a 42-year-old quarterback who has already said that this is his final season is a good decision? No, probably not. But if there is, it's only when that quarterback would give you a legitimate chance to win a Super Bowl.
At this stage of his career, Rodgers doesn't come close to doing that. Among the 29 quarterbacks with at least 50 dropbacks this season, Rodgers ranks last in EPA per play, last in success rate, and 28th in yards per attempt. He has been the worst starting QB in the NFL.
The veteran insists on playing from static, easy to read formations and getting the ball out quickly. Because of his play, the Steelers have been unable to move the ball consistently so far this season.
As Pawloski mentioned, the Steelers would only consider trading Rodgers away if their season tanked. Even then, an organization that has been too stubborn to admit defeat over the last decade might not be willing to move on.
It would likely only cost a seventh-round pick, or even a late-round pick swap to trade for Rodgers. Still, there would be no reason for the Giants to make the deal. If the Steelers' season continues to go downhill, that would mean that Rodgers fails to bounce back. Why would the G-Men trade for a 42-year-old quarterback who has been one of the worst in the league?
They would be better off sticking with Jameis Winston or taking a chance on a young QB currently on a practice squad, perhaps Joe Milton III.
Anybody but Rodgers.
