Brian Daboll’s four-year run with the New York Giants will go down in history as a failed experiment in replicating the success of another franchise. The former head coach went 20-40-1 with the G-Men, making one surprise playoff appearance in 2022.
But it wasn’t all bad for Daboll. Plenty of memorable players suited up for Big Blue under his charge.
We’re looking back on almost four years of New York’s last head coach with an All-Brian-Daboll Team: 22 starters who made the biggest impact under the Tennessee Titans’ new offensive coordinator.
Giants’ best offensive players under Brian Daboll
QB: Daniel Jones
There were only two real candidates here. One took the Giants to a playoff win. While the end of Jones’ run in New York will leave a sour taste in fans’ mouths, he was a dynamic quarterback worth building an offense around on his best days.
RB: Saquon Barkley
This was one of the easiest choices on the list. Barkley had the best season of his Giants career in 2022, totaling over 1,800 yards from scrimmage and ripping off 35 runs of ten yards or more. As painful as it still is to see him in a Philadelphia Eagles jersey, we can’t forget how electric he was in New York.
WR1: Malik Nabers
Just 19 games into his NFL career, Nabers is already the best Giants receiver of the last half-decade. He put up ridiculous numbers in 2024 despite missing time, logging the second-most receptions ever by a rookie.
WR2: Wan’Dale Robinson
Only two players have put up 1,000-yard seasons for the Giants since 2022: Nabers and Robinson. After following Daboll to Tennessee, it only felt right to put Robinson on this list as the second receiver.
WR3: Darius Slayton
He never put up big numbers, but Slayton had back-to-back seasons as the Giants’ leading receiver. With over 2,500 receiving yards in the last four seasons, we couldn’t keep him off this list. At his best, he threatened defenses vertically enough to open up the rest of New York’s offense.
TE: Daniel Bellinger
The Giants haven’t been able to find a consistent answer at tight end in recent years and are relying on Isaiah Likely to finally bring stability at the position. While Bellinger never put up big numbers as a receiver, his run blocking made him a reliable member of Daboll’s offense.
LT: Andrew Thomas
If he had been healthy in each of the last four seasons, Thomas would be firmly in the conversation as the best offensive tackle in football. He’s been dominant when on the field and should only look better in 2026 with a stronger line around him.
LG: Ben Bredeson
While Bredeson technically played left guard for the Giants in 2022 and 2023, he deserves a spot on this list. He started 24 games for Big Blue and played his best football during the late-season run in 2022.
C: John Michael Schmitz
A former second-round pick, Schmitz has held down New York’s starting center job since he entered the league in 2023. While his pass protection has been a bit hit or miss, he’s been a strong run blocker.
RG: Greg Van Roten
Van Roten was quietly one of the best players on the Giants’ offense last season. He allowed pressures on just 2.3% of his pass-blocking snaps and was a key piece in the run game. His ability to play all three spots on the interior of the offensive line was immensely valuable for Daboll.
RT: Jermaine Eluemenor
Big Blue’s whiff on Evan Neal would have been even more catastrophic if Eluemenor didn’t step in to provide capable right tackle play. He’s been more than solid for the last two seasons, leading to a well-deserved new contract.
Giants’ best defensive players under Brian Daboll
IDL: Dexter Lawrence II, Leonard Williams, Rakeem Nunez-Roches
Lawrence was the centerpiece of the Giants’ defense for years. He earned Second-Team All-Pro honors in both 2022 and 2023 and eventually netted New York a first-round pick. Williams and Nunez-Roches were supporting pieces, but they were both effective in complementing Lawrence’s skill set.
EDGE: Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux
With 25 sacks over the last two seasons, Burns was the easy choice for the first edge rusher on this squad. The second was a bit trickier. Thibodeaux hasn’t lived up to his pre-draft billing in New York, but he’s a competent starter capable of wrecking a game at his best.
LB: Bobby Okereke, Micah McFadden
The Giants added Tremaine Edmunds and Arvell Reese this offseason for a reason. Their linebacker play has been far from elite in recent years, but Okereke and McFadden have done a solid job holding down the fort. The duo combined for 250 tackles in 2023.
CB: Adoree Jackson, Cordale Flott
Here’s another position New York is still trying to fix. The G-Men have employed a rotating cast of cornerbacks in recent years, but Jackson and Flott have been two of the best. Paulson Adebo has an argument to be included, but his limited sample size and up-and-down play kept him off the list.
S: Xavier McKinney, Julian Love
The Giants spent $45 million on Jevon Holland to recover from losing McKinney. He has become one of the best ball-hawking safeties in football. Love has found greener pastures as well, winning a Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks last season.
