It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Jaxson Dart loves football. His entire rookie season with the New York Giants almost came to a halt on multiple occasions because he's always willing to fight for extra yards.

That's the sort of moxie you want in a franchise quarterback, although the recklessness could be toned back a bit. Giants fans have already been infected with Dart fever, and now he has a head coach in John Harbaugh who loves football just as much as he does, if not even more than him.

While the fans rallying behind J6 is great to see, the more important part is that the guys in the locker room are. The offensive line has had his back, but so have the other Giants quarterbacks. Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston have sung his praises, mainly in regard to his personality and work ethic.

Brandon Allen has been seeing the same Jaxson Dart qualities we all love

However, the second-year man has quickly made an impression on a new signal-caller New York brought in this offseason. While appearing on the Giants Nation Podcast, veteran third-stringer Brandon Allen praised Dart for the exact same qualities fans fell in love with.

"He's got more fire in him than a lot of people that I have been around," Allen said. "I've been around a lot of good quarterbacks,, he's got the want to be great....You can see that fire in him, he gets frustrated. He gets mad when things aren't perfect, and you want that in a quarterback.... I think really the thing that separates him is his desire, his want to, he loves it."

Allen hasn't been in the building for very long yet, but he already sees the 23-year-old as a player who lives and breathes football. He's spent time around Jared Goff, Brock Purdy, Sam Darnold, and Joe Burrow, so he knows what makes a great quarterback... and he already sees those qualities in Dart.

Having the talent to be great is one thing, but the drive and willingness to compete are what separate a good quarterback from an elite one. We know the former Ole Miss Rebel has the talent; he consistently impressed throughout his rookie season, but his mindset is the reason he's star-bound.

Things will never be perfect, but knowing he has the fire to get mad when things aren't has to be the biggest endorsement of Jaxson Dart's character. Anyone who watches the G-Men knows a sophomore leap is in the cards in a better situation, but as Brandon Allen said, the key to a bright future goes well beyond talent.
