The New York Giants have a holy trinity of free agents they should hope to retain this offseason: Jermaine Eluemunor, Wan'Dale Robinson, and Cor'Dale Flott. They need to retain the talent they are finally developing to give John Harbaugh a head start in turning this team around, which will come easier said than done.
Giants beat reporter and NY Post reporter Ryan Dunleavy shed some light on a pivotal offseason in East Rutherford. During a guest appearance on The Giants Nation Show with Bobby Skinner, Dunleavy caught fans by surprise by revealing that Eluemunor has the best chance to return:
""I would say Eluemunor is the best bet of the three to return. ... It sounds like he's not going to have the market he wants. If he's going to have to accept a lesser contract, then he might accept it in a place that his family likes it.""Ryan Dunleavy
However, Dunleavy prefaced this sentiment by saying he expects none of the three to be back in 2026, but thinks if any of them have a chance to be retained, it's Eluemunor. Despite having a career year in 2025, he's hoping to cash in, but his market may not be as robust as he anticipated.
Giants receive disappointing update on three key free agents
The NFL Draft combine kicks off this week, so we'll receive more intel in the days leading up to the start of the new league year on March 11, some of which will pertain to Big Blue. Wan'Dale's price tag is too high, and another coaching change can see Flott walk while Eluemunor 's future is unknown.
There's been speculation that he could follow Brian Daboll and Carmen Bricillo to Tennessee, but the Giants want to keep him as a bookend right tackle opposite Andrew Thomas. He was one of the most penalized linemen in the NFL, but was otherwise fantastic in pass protection for Jaxson Dart this year.
The 31-year-old is probably staring down his final chance to bring home a major payday, but it's no guarantee he makes $10 million in AAV on a new deal. He's good, but not elite, which is why Spotrac projected his market value at less than $18 million across two years, which is just under $9M a year.
If the Giants lose the Texas A&M product, odds are they can replace him with Spencer Fano in the draft, so he won't be super tough to lose. Wide receivers grow on trees now so I think Wan'Dale chasing a bag elsewhere is fine. Honestly, Flott would be a major weapon at DB for Dennard Wilson.
Eluemunor is someone fans want to keep, so if it's a deal like this, I'm all for it. It would be a low-risk, high-reward deal that's pretty affordable, so while this bodes well for his chances of returning, Dunleavy's entire update suggests the Giants could have some major holes to fill in due time.
