Well, it’s time for New York Giants fans to get mad at another list, and yes — it’s another one involving our sweet prince, Dexter Lawrence. This time, the culprit is Brandon Austin of Pro Football Sporting News.
He ranked the Top 100 players in the NFL, and you’ll never guess where they slotted the 27-year-old. Lawrence — a guy widely regarded as not only one of the best at his position, but one of the best players in football — was ranked 93rd. That’s right... NINETY-THIRD.
In 2024, Lawrence played just 12 games but was well on his way to a Defensive Player of the Year nod before injury cut his season short. He finished with nine sacks, 44 total tackles, and 16 quarterback hits — despite missing a full month.

Compare that to Jets DT Quinnen Williams, who came in at No. 73. Williams played in 16 games (four more than Lawrence) and managed six sacks, 37 tackles, and 18 quarterback hits. Lawrence not only had better production, but would’ve blown him out of the water with a full slate — and yet he’s ranked 20 spots lower. Make it make sense.
The NFL's best defensive tackle just got massively disrespected
And it’s not just Williams. The snubs start well before you even get to his name. Just three spots ahead of Lawrence? Chargers second-year wide receiver Ladd McConkey. No disrespect to McConkey — he had a great rookie year — but he’s not even close to Lawrence’s caliber.
McConkey couldn’t sniff a Pro Bowl spot playing all 16 games, while Lawrence made another one in a shortened season.
There’s no logic to the disrespect Lawrence has seen this offseason. But if you’re looking for silver linings, this stuff makes for elite bulletin board material. The Giants defense has high expectations heading into 2025 — and now they’ve got one more reason to play pissed off.
Austin practically contradicts his own ranking: “Lawrence seemingly expanded his bag, posting a career-high sack total despite a shortened season. He was a nightmare to block, garnering a 74.5% double-team rate, higher than any other interior defensive lineman, per ESPN.”
How does that analysis get you ranked 93rd? Oh, and speaking of ESPN, they just had him ranked as the best defensive tackle in the league... so somewhere there's the biggest disconnect of all time.
So yeah, go ahead and keep underrating him.
At this point, you’re just adding fuel to the fire.
