Things will get better for the New York Giants... at some point... maybe. Or they might just be cursed. Just when fans were riding high off their first win of the season, Big Blue came out in Week 5 and flopped hard. Their matchup against the New Orleans Saints was widely viewed as one of the only winnable games on their 2025 schedule, making the 26-14 loss that much worse.

The loss is a direct indictment of head coach Brian Daboll. This was a flat-out unacceptable loss for the fourth-year coach. This is a frustrating one. All the mental mistakes and lapses that should be coached out reared their ugly heads in one of the worst performances this team has had in a while. And that’s saying something.

The game started off great, but quickly got ugly and went from bad to worse as penalties and turnovers did the G-Men in, ultimately gift-wrapping New Orleans their first win of the season. It was a total team loss across the board, but it’s clear Dab’s time in the Big Apple is over. It’ll be impossible to bounce back from a disaster like this. It’s time to part ways with Brian Daboll.

No more beating around the bush or looking for silver linings. It’s time to go. We’re talking, don’t let him on the bus after the game, time to go. What an embarrassment.

Aside from scoring touchdowns on back-to-back drives to start the game, nothing went right for this team. The five turnovers can’t, won’t, and shouldn’t be tolerated. Holding onto the football is pretty fundamental. It’s something the coaching staff needs to be driving home during practices, but feels like a massive oversight under this coaching staff.

This is a team that had trouble with turnovers last season as well. So, what’s changed? Because it looks a lot like it’s different season, same story.

The two interceptions thrown by Dart are understandable — he’s a 22-year-old, starting his second game, trying to do too much. Still. Coach him up. It became clear in the second half that the moment was becoming a bit too big for him. Maybe throw in Russell Wilson for a drive to shift the energy. Do something.

There’s only one thing more frustrating than the turnovers, and it was the penalties. Eight accepted penalties for 95 yards is just terrible. That’s on Daboll. That’s just lazy football. How are we already looking to Week 6 and talking about the lack of discipline this team plays with? It’s crazy.

If they do pull the plug, there are some interesting options. Offensive coordinator Mike Kafka could get some run as the interim coach. Maybe one of the up-and-coming position coaches gets a look. Whoever it is, it's time to start looking ahead.

This can’t keep going. The mistakes, the penalties, the lack of urgency — it’s all a reflection of coaching. Daboll was brought in to fix this mess, and it’s only gotten worse. If the Giants want to salvage anything from this season, it starts with making a change. Time’s up. Fire Brian Daboll.
