Giants fans can’t help but laugh as Jerry Jones sounds completely delusional

Jerry better get to work after saying he wanted to retire with the most Super Bowl wins.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has done it again. He’s left not just Cowboys fans, but NFL fans speechless with another delusional comment at his most recent press conference. The 83-year-old told the media that his goal is to retire as the owner with the most Super Bowl victories... which is interesting.

Jerry has three titles since buying the Cowboys in 1989, with the most recent championship coming in 1996. They just completed their 30th season since winning a title, and Jerry still has a ways to go, as Patriots owner Robert Kraft currently holds six Super Bowls. He acknowledged as such on Wednesday:

"That's my goal. To be retired in the NFL as the owner that won the most Super Bowls. We've got three. How many more do I have to go as a single owner? Bob’s got how many? Six? So, I got work to do. Got work to do. But at least I'm up to the second rung in the ladder."

Alright, Jerry, if that’s what helps you sleep at night, knowing you’ve won the second-most championships as an owner. However, the Rooney family has owned the Steelers since 1933, and they’ve also won six championships.

The franchise has been passed down to Art Rooney II, the grandson of Art Rooney. So technically, Jerry is third, but since the team has been passed down, we’ll give it to Jones anyway. Regardless, he’s got work to do, and he’s not going to live forever.

Jerry Jones' dream hits a wall with Giants surging and NFC East closing in

The Cowboys had a disappointing season, missing the playoffs and finishing 7-9-1 in Brian Schottenheimer’s first year as the team’s head coach. Dallas ended the season at MetLife Stadium, losing 34-17 to the New York Giants, which left a bad taste in the mouths of Cowboys fans who may have been in attendance.

The Cowboys did finish in second place in the NFC East this year, but with the Eagles continuing to dominate the division, the Commanders expected to bounce back from an injury-riddled season, and the Giants on the rise, it could get harder and harder for Jerry to achieve his goal.

The Giants are a good head coach away from making sure Jones does not lift the Lombardi Trophy again in his tenure as Cowboys owner. Joe Schoen must nail this hire not only for Jaxson Dart and the players but also to establish the culture and ensure the G-Men return to their winning ways.

If Big Blue really wanted to stop Jones from his goal of winning another Super Bowl, while rubbing salt in the wound, they could look to hire former Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy, who is scheduled to interview for the Giants’ head coaching job. McCarthy has the experience and resume, understands how to win in the NFC East, and I’m sure would love to get back at his former boss, who fired him before this past season.
