Giants fans just crowned Nik Bonitto their newest villain after deleted post

Keep an eye out for No. 15 on Sunday afternoon.

When you think of historic NFL rivalries, I’m willing to bet the New York Giants and Denver Broncos aren’t exactly at the forefront. But by the sound of the trash talk that’s been spewing from some of Denver’s defenders over the past 24 hours or so, it might just become the next one.

Big Blue is getting set to take on the Broncos in a late afternoon Week 7 clash in the Mile High City. They’re entering the game riding high off a 34-17 drubbing of the Philadelphia Eagles on primetime. It was a statement win — but it’s becoming obvious that Denver isn’t buying it.

It started with outside linebacker Jonathon Cooper’s comments Wednesday on Giants rookie quarterback sensation Jaxson Dart. Dart’s aura and swagger broke the 27-year-old’s brain, putting him into a mental pretzel that resulted in him throwing bulletin board material at No. 6. Then, on Thursday, it continued with his outside linebacking running mate, Nik Bonitto, who had choice words for Giants fans.

In a since-deleted social media post, Bonitto seemingly threw punches at all of Big Blue Nation:

"I've never seen such a delusional fan base"
Nik Bonitto

Broncos' linebacker Nik Bonitto just became Giants' public enemy No. 1

Talk about instant regret, huh? Deleted right after posting it. At least own it. Unfortunately for the 26-year-old, it’s 2025 — so there’s literally no hiding from the post, even if it’s deleted. The glorious part about the internet is the ability to screenshot and bring receipts. It's right here.

While we can’t be certain the fan base Bonitto is alluding to is, in fact, New York’s, it’s a safe assumption. Not everyone is buying what the G-Men are selling, and that’s a shame. Led by Dart and fellow rookie Cam Skattebo, things are starting to turn all the way around for the Giants. Still, they’re 2-4 with a gauntlet of a schedule remaining, and they’re making a lot of headlines.

Perhaps the fourth-year pass rusher is fed up with not getting the amount of attention Big Blue’s rookies are receiving. It would make some sense. The former Oklahoma standout is leading the league in sacks with 8.0, putting together a strong Defensive Player of the Year case, and still flying under the national radar. Jealousy has a fickle way of getting the best of all of us.

Make no mistake about it — Bonitto’s deleted post is personal. It’s insulting, sure... but also probably true. Still, who is this guy to tell us we’re delusional?

There would honestly be nothing sweeter than star left tackle Andrew Thomas taking the 6-foot-3, 248-pounder and stuffing him in a locker all game long.

As for the Giants, it looks like they’ll let their play on the field do their trash talking. Because after all, if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it at all. Bonitto is public enemy No. 1.
