Tell me you're tired of watching the New York Giants linebackers fail without telling me. And Giants fans did exactly that via a social media poll I posted during the AFC Championship Game on Sunday afternoon.
Not to throw salt on the wound to Denver Broncos fans following a playoff loss, but free agency is just around the corner (now for both teams), and it's time to start thinking about which upcoming players make the most sense for new head coach John Harbaugh and defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson. Because someone's gotta get this defense back to Super Bowl-quality.
The poll consisted of four options: John Franklin-Myers, Alex Singleton, Michael Burton, and a hard pass on any Broncos free agent. There were 58 voters -- thank you for your service -- with an overwhelming majority of 30 selecting 32-year-old linebacker, Alex Singleton:
#Giants fans - which of these upcoming #Broncos free agents do you think would be a good fit for John Harbaugh’s group?

I mean, can you blame them? The middle of the defense has been such a nightmare that even some mock drafts suggested they could go middle linebacker with the fifth overall pick in the 2026 Draft. That's how old this story has been for Giants faithful.
Big Blue Nation has spoken and Alex Singleton is their guy
Singleton isn’t exactly a spring chicken -- he turned 32 in December -- but hey, isn’t age just a number? The reality is that the seven-year pro is still playing some of his best football. And that makes him an intriguing option for general manager Joe Schoen and Co. to take a run at the Fabio-looking backer come March.
Singleton had a late start to his NFL journey. He went undrafted in 2015, signed with the Seattle Seahawks’ practice squad, bounced around to the New England Patriots’ and Minnesota Vikings’ practice squads, and ultimately found his way to the CFL with the Calgary Stampeders.
It wasn't until 2019 that he finally got a real shot with the Philadelphia Eagles, and he's been tackling NFL players ever since. In five of his seven seasons, he's eclipsed the triple-digit tackle threshold, all but confirming he's a sure-tackler.
That’s exactly what the G-Men need, especially considering how missed tackles, poor gap discipline, and lackluster effort have plagued them on a weekly basis.
The former Montana State standout won't come cheap. And with limited cap space, spending considerable cash on a middle linebacker might seem risky, but throwing the same guys out there and expecting different results has been a failed tactic. So, it's time to make the necessary change.
Spotrac and Over the Cap give Giants fans a pretty reasonable range for what it might cost to bring in Singleton: Spotrac values him at $4.7 million per year, while OTC has him at $10.3 million. His age suggests he’s closer to the former, but his production pushes him toward the latter -- which likely puts his number somewhere in the middle, around $7 million.

Luckily, the G-Men have a clear cap casualty in Bobby Okereke. Cutting him would clear the necessary space and open a roster spot for the Broncos linebacker, making Singleton’s addition feel seamless.
You heard it straight from the horse’s mouth (pun intended) -- Alex Singleton is the guy Giants fans are circling as the 2026 roster begins to take shape. With John Harbaugh now in charge, free agency just around the corner, and the draft soon to follow, this is shaping up to be one of the most exciting offseasons in recent memory.
