It's not every day that a team's own social media account shares a "highlight" of their franchise quarterback throwing an interception, applauding the defensive back who caused it. But when they do, it's hilariously generous.
The New York Giants didn't exactly need a reason to laugh at Philly's expense -- it's just that you don't expect a rival team to troll themselves... on purpose.
If you haven't seen the video, the Philadelphia Eagles' social media account posted a clip on Wednesday showcasing Jalen Hurts throwing an interception to rookie cornerback Quinyon Mitchell. The caption read, "Right on Q."
Harmless, right? Wrong. Very, terribly wrong.
It's clear the video was meant to showcase their star corner, but all it did was show -- in slow motion, no less -- a pretty underthrown pass right over the middle from Hurts. It's a tough look for the social media team. It's a tough look for Hurts. It's a tough look for Philly. You hate to see it.
Naturally, the Eagles and their fans quickly tried to write it off as nothing, pushing back on the idea that it was even remotely negative. But one of the members of the Philly spin-zone team, Eagles reporter Eliot Shorr-Parks, tried his hand at damage control and only made the whole "non-issue" even more laughable.

The morning after "the incident," Shorr-Parks took to Twitter to explain that those making fun of Hurts for throwing a training camp interception are only making fools of themselves.
You see, no one is allowed to poke fun at Philadelphia for posting this, because people forget that back in 2024, Hurts threw 158 consecutive passes during camp without throwing an interception. It's currently the team's franchise record, which Shorr-Parks so kindly reminded everyone of. Though I'm not sure how anyone could forget a historic milestone like training camp practice attempts.

And here I was, ready to let the whole thing go. But then I saw this defense of Hurts' franchise-shattering reps at camp (from 2024), and I just couldn't help myself.
Listen, interceptions at training camp happen -- they are a thing. However, the Eagles' social media team has to have at least a smidge of awareness here. Jalen Hurts has been at the center of some "is he actually a good quarterback" conversations over the past year or two.
Hurts’ reluctance to attack the middle of the field has been picked apart plenty over the past couple of seasons, so maybe broadcasting an ugly underthrow directly into that area wasn’t the flex the Eagles thought it was.
So, from the bottom of every New York Giants fan's heart, we want to thank the Eagles' media department.
In a long offseason, you provided us with the best entertainment money can't buy. The Philly spin zone is already working overtime to protect their precious Jalen Hurts, but no amount of damage control can erase what you put out there on social media for everyone to see.
