Kayvon Thibodeaux might be living his life a quarter-mile at a time right now, because that Instagram story he dropped had Giants fans hitting the NOS button on panic mode.

Right in the middle of draft chaos, with trade chatter already making the rounds after the New York Giants took Arvell Reese at No. 5, Thibodeaux decided it was the perfect time to post a very on-brand, very vague “goodbye” with a Fast & Furious twist:

Naturally, the internet did what it does. Trade speculation went from “eh, maybe” to “he’s gone” in about 30 seconds. Which, to be fair, wasn’t coming out of nowhere. The Giants just moved Dexter Lawrence for the No. 10 pick, then doubled down on the pass rush again with Reese. You don’t need to be Vin Diesel to see where the “family” schtick starts feeling off.

Kayvon Thibodeaux fuels trade rumors with Fast & Furious-style trade post

Except... there’s one small problem with the whole situation: he's maybe/probably/likely not getting moved at all.

Ryan Dunleavy shut it down faster than Walker's Nissan Skyline:

So what was the post? What was he hinting at?

Maybe it was nothing. Maybe it was about someone else. Or maybe -- and this now feels way more likely -- Thibs saw everyone connecting the dots and writing articles about his time being done in North Jersey after the Reese pick and chose chaos.

Because if we're in the trust tree, the timing is way too perfect.

The Giants just overloaded their pass-rushing room like it’s a Fast & Furious cast list. Brian Burns, Abdul Carter, Reese, KT... that’s a crew. And once Reese's name was called, the immediate and understandable reaction was, “Alright, Kay's gonzo."

Apparently not.

Which makes this whole will-they, won't-they thing at least a little funnier, especially since covering the trade rumors and talk has been physically exhausting. Fans are out here bracing for a blockbuster trade, and Thibodeaux’s just in the background posting like, “Pockets ain’t empty, cuz.”

Big Blue might have created a crowded pass-rush room, because yeah, Reese complicates things a lot. But that’s what happens when you keep drafting best player available. Having too much talent is a great problem to have.

As of the writing of this article, nothing’s changed. Thibodeaux’s still on the team, there’s been zero traction on a trade, and the Giants are just sitting here with an absurd amount of pass-rushing talent.

The family’s still intact. For now.
